This handle replaced our broken handle on our frigidaire cfmv157gc microwave. In fact if the door latch isn t snapped shut the microwave won t function at all. It was difficult to get them out because of where they were and not having a magnetized screwdriver with a slender enough shaft to reach through the obstruction with some innovation and a lot of time i eventually got the screws in. One way a microwave door can cease to function properly is if the hinges are loose or damaged.

I did a little research on how to replace the handle and after popping the insert out of the inside of the microwave door i was then able to remove the two screws that held the outside panel of the door the part with the glass to the part with the hinges. Parts are not sturdy. I had to take off the framework around the inside of the door to expose the handle screws. My microwave looked very funny without it s handle.

This replacement is much more solid was installed easily with the help of the instructions given elsewhere in the reviews and was half the price of what our local appliance shop was going to charge. Before you can begin a cooking cycle on your frigidaire microwave the door must be completely shut. If your microwave model has a glass tray or turn table then follow the instructions printed on the popcorn label and place the bag on the turn table. This technique works for most brands and styles.

My question is how do i get to the handle screws they are being blocked by some type of metal object. I have the replacement handle and i ve taking the black plastic ring off. I have a frigidaire microwave model fmv157gc the handle broke and i need to replace it. The company was fine but i had to pay shipping and a restocking fee since the part that was advertised to fit did not.

In some instances if you have a metal turn table instead of glass you do need to set the popcorn bag on a popcorn bacon plate. And removal of the broken handle was a tedious process. Will not buy frigidaire in the future.
